It's a well known fact that cheese is good. But its not until you try some of the more gourmet styles that you really develop an appreciation of cheese. At this stage you pair cheese with everything and look down on those who put Bega on platters. So what is good cheese and where can you get it in Perth? Well here's a few.

Carine Cuisine:

Located in the Carine Glades Shopping Centre in Duncraig, Carine Cuisine offers arguably the largest range of cheese in Perth. They have a huge range of local & imported names and are usually willing to try out any cheese that they don't have in stock.

CC sells everything from the finest Parmesans to award winning Tasmanian bries and the most exclusive French blues (claiming over 300 varieties). A lot of the staff are also very knowledgeable when it comes to tasting notes and pairing suggestions, so if you want to try something different, this is the place to go.

Passione Gourmet Deli:
Passione Gourmet Deli is a knew player bringing fine foods to the northern suburbs. Located in Kingsley, Passione is a product of the dream of two long time gourmet food lovers. This store offers more than just your standard service.

It has a distinctly European feel about it with the staff wearing berets, sausages hanging from the roof and that homestyle feel that's missing in most Perth business. The best thing about Passione is you can turn up, order an expertly made coffee, roll, salad, pizza etc. then sit down and eat it right there. The staff do take the time to get to know you as well. And despite there relatively small cheese selection, the list involves many names you will have never heard before and pretty generous prices.

The Herdsman:
The Herdsman in Churchlands has an excellent reputation for fresh, quality produce. Built in an area formerly known for its market gardens, the Herdsman stays true to its heritage bringing in amazing local produce with some of the best imported goods. They have become a favourite go to for restaurants, caterers & cafes.

Besides a good range of gourmet cheeses the Herdsman is a grocery, bakery, ice creamery, juice bar, kitchen and seafood store all rolled into one so its a great way to do all your food shopping in one pleasant experience.

The Re Store

The Re-store in Leederville is the home of everything different in Perth. It has a huge range of foods, drinks and non-edible goods that you'd never find anywhere else in WA. Their large cheese section covers all the finest local and European products as well as some little known names from the rest of the world.

The best aspect of the Re Store is after choosing your cheese you can walk a few steps away to choose some of the best imported wine & beer brands to pair it with.

The Mousetrap:
Fremantle is one of the most culturally significant locations in Perth. The iconic markets are home to some of the most amazing food and quirky gift stores in Western Australia. Among those is the only dedicated cheese shop in Perth.

The Mousetrap in the fresh food section (stall 121) offers a great variety of imported cheeses with first class friendly and very knowledgeable service. You'll find the rarest styles here and the owners have developed quite a reputation for their in depth cheese facts. And the beauty is its all at the low price we all expect from the markets.
